Thanksgiving Stuffing

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

I’m calling this recipe ‘Thanksgiving Stuffing’ because I only make it at Thanksgiving. It’s the one food dish that is always requested and if I don’t make it, I never hear the end of it. Enough talk! Put on your thanksgiving pants and let's get cooking!

Preheat your oven. Turn on your oven (on bake or convection) to 350 degrees. Take out a 6-8 quart baking dish. I like to use my 6 quart programable crockpot. The dish is removable for easy cleaning and cooking! Grease your backing dish and then set it aside.

Collect ingredients. Brown your sausage in a small amount of butter. In another pot, sauté your onion and celery in the butter and then add the poultry seasoning.

Mix all together. Pour the bag of stuffing, sausage, and the onion/celery mixture in your baking dish. Mix together and then add 4 cups of chicken broth on top.

Cook your stuffing. Place the stuffing in the oven, uncovered, and cook for 45 minutes. If you like the stuffing a little crispy on top, leave it in the oven for an additional 15 minutes.

When the stuffing is done cooking, you can serve immediately or if you are using a removeable dish from your crockpot, place it back on the crockpot and turn it on warm until you are ready to eat. Cooking Tip: If you decide to keep it warm in your crockpot, stir periodically. Enjoy!
