Lucy’s Famous Bean Hotdish
Updated: Nov 20, 2019

My grandma made mostly cookies growing up, but there is one dish that had me asking for it all the time... it was her 3-bean hotdish. I've received so many requests for this recipe, so that's why I'm posting it now. Let's get cooking!
Preheat the oven. Turn on your oven (on bake) to 350 degrees and take out your baking dish. I've used an 8x8 and a 1.5 quart baking dish and both work great.
Collect ingredients. Brown your hamburger and onion in one pot and fry your bacon in another pot. Open each can of beans and drain the liquid from the lima and kidney beans.
Mix all together. Combine the browned meat/onion mixture, bacon, all three cans of beans, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and salt in your baking dish and mix well.
Cook your bean hotdish. Place your hotdish in the oven, uncovered, and cook for 1 hour.
Serve warm and Enjoy!
Cooking Tip: For big get togethers, I doubled the recipe and cooked it in my 7 quart removable baking dish from my crockpot. Once done cooking, I placed the crockpot on warm until we were ready to eat!
