Delicious Peanut Butter Blossoms
Updated: Nov 17, 2019

'Tis the season! It wouldn't feel like the holidays if we didn't have peanut butter blossoms to pass around. This recipe is easy and fun to make with the whole family. Be sure to make enough because they will not last long!
Preheat oven to 365 degrees. I have used bake and convection and both work really well. If using convection, turn the heat down to 350 degrees. Next you'll want to get your mixer and ingredients out. I use my KitchenAid Classic mixer, but a regular hand mixer, but that works as well.
Cream together the butter (prefer organic- salted), peanut butter (prefer Skippy Natural Creamy - no extra oil), and sugars. If you are using a KichenAid mixer, I use between level 2 and 4. Add your eggs (prefer organic), milk, and vanilla extract; mix well. Next add your dry ingredients and mix thoroughly, then shape into balls (1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter). Cooking Tip: If you batter is too soft, place it in the fridge for one to two hours. Grab a small dish and pour a few tablespoons of white (or colored) sugar in it. Roll the balls in the sugar. If you want to make some memories for your kiddo(s), put them in charge of this task! I still remember doing this with my mom when I was young.
Place the sugared balls on a greased (or use parchment paper) cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes. Take the cookies out of the oven and place chocolate kisses or stars on the cookie and return to the oven for a few more minutes. Cooking Tip: Press the chocolate pieces firmly down so the cookie cracks around the edge. Place your cookies on a cooling rack, let cool, and then enjoy!
I hope you and your family enjoys these as much as we do!
